Place local to me in Perth is £250 supply and fit and he makes the kit up as need be. Last time i spoke to him he said it can take 2hrs or all day depends on the bike age etc.

I keep thinking this.

My Bandit 600 is standard at the minute. I'm torn between messing with it and just chopping it in for a 1200. My neighbor said I would be mad as mine only has 12k on it for a '97 and is one of the best examples of a 600 he has seen for years. Plus, he reckons that if I buy a 1200, I could be just inheriting someone else's problems, which, I can sort of understand, but with Bandits, how much can be føøk3d that can't easily be rectified (short of the engine been knackered)?

I had thought about putting a 1200 lump in mine, but as I understand it, there's a helluva lot of other upgraded parts on a 1200 to the 600.

I'd like to see you try that putting a 1200 motor in a 6 frame hope you have a big shoehorn. As to dyno jet kits unless you know what your doing LEAVE well alone i've not done my 12 yet as i need to get all the parts i need to do it all properly eg.1340 big bore kit etc.etc. will cost about £2000 by time i get it all done.TBH the 6 runs well without rejetting you should only need to do them if you start fiddlling with the motor.
As to an engine change for a 6 you can go to an 884 as biggest bore kit you can get but then you get into the relems of reliabilaty best option to up the power of a 6 is swap it for a GSXR 750 motor and after doing that you need to sort out handling and a lot of other problems that you will have along the way hope you have a big bank account as you will need it even buying the parts from evil bay.

Delboy the 12 does it for me but i have a mate who has built a 750 from a 6 and a gsx750r +all the other bits to go with it. If you want to go down this route you need to find yourself a GOOD gsx 750r L model that will go in with no changes to the frame.
